POOR Paolo Nutini sees River City's Tom Urie murdering his top hit 10/10 at VIP bash!

RIVER City star Tom Urie last night told how he screeched out Paolo Nutini hit 10/10 at a VIP bash - only to see the singer looking on in "horror".

Tom, 41, who plays Big Bob O'Hara, said he "wanted to die" after realising the chart heartthrob was in the crowd during his impromptu performance.

The actor had been belting out requests at the revamped Corinthian Club in Glasgow when he tackled Paolo's track.

He said: "I started it too high and when I got to the chorus I was shrieking.

"Then I glanced up and who do I see staring with a look of amusement, horror and puzzlement? Paolo.

"I nearly died. It was one of those moments when you go, 'Oh no'."

But Tom - who was joined by fellow cast members of the BBC soap - admitted it was worth it for the look on Paolo's face.

He added: "It was brilliant, really hilarious - one of those great stories for Facebook."

Tom - who starred in Still Game and Chewin The Fat - said his singing session at the Corinthian's Charlie Parker's bar was totally unplanned.

He said: "People sit round and ask for requests. It was a riot."

A spokesman for the venue - which opens to the public on August 28 - last night confirmed: "Paolo was invited."
